March 2026 Progress Report
Primary Project(s): Myrtlin Springs, ORCHID
Word Count: ~15,000 Words
Biggest Win: Starting this blog! Getting active!
Biggest Challenge: Myrtlin Springs pt 2
Current Inspirations: Resident Evil 9, Magic: The Gathering, Itch.io Indie Games
What I worked on:
1. My Blog
My blog got a lot of work this month, as I felt more motivated to pursue writing actively. This month has included myself being sick quite a bit, many many many hours into Disney Dreamlight Valley and Fallout: New Vegas, and a lot of reflection in my personal life about some of my current issues. The blog was created in February but "fell on hard times" as I exited my seasonal depressive episode for the year. I'm glad things got better, and I'm feeling excited and confident!
2. Myrtlin Springs
After my mom and a handful of friends were able to read Part 1 of 4 of the first draft of Myrtlin Springs, I took a little writing hiatus as Part 2 felt much more difficult to write and get down on paper. Since then, my lovely mother has asked me many times when Part 2 would be done and they could read it. While it's still not ready, I'm glad that their encouragement has gotten me hopping back on it again!
Progress Breakdown:
My blog got an overhaul and features pages about each specific project I'm working on and the progress of each.
Myrtlin Springs has had the entire first part reworked and edited, and I feel more confident about finishing Part 2.
ORCHID has been added to the roster as something I'd love to edit and publish this year.
LOUD & ANNOYING, VOCAL & EXCITED is a project that appeared without much notice but is a poetry collection that I'm compiling/writing about my experience as a girl and woman, and all the experiences that come with that. I'm excited to really share more about this project. I hope to publish it next year.
I spent many hours this month attempting to find more places to get experience: more conferences be a panelist at, more workshops to lead, more events to attend, and more space to learn and hone my craft. I have one submission I'm working on for a local press house (that's due very soon) and I've got one event coming up in the summer! Hoping for success for both.
