MYRTLIN SPRINGS Project Details
MYRTLIN SPRINGS by a b phillips
MYRTLIN SPRINGS is an upcoming project. This page reflects the progress of the novel, all for the enjoyment of viewers.
Synopsis:
After a deadly cattle plague, meat is hard to come by in Myrtlin Springs. Unfortunately, hunger is even harder to ignore. Judith is the town's last butcher, and with a struggling source of food and income begin to dwindle, she's beginning to question what will come of her shop and livelihood.
After a freak accident though, everything changes.
Judith's refrigerator is suddenly full again, with all the right cuts. The supply is endless, and Judith doesn't know why. She only knows it comes at a cost.
In a dark and unsettling story of survival and sacrifice, nothing is wasted, and everything has a price.
Themes / Vibes:
MYRTLIN SPRINGS contains themes of horror, surrealism, gore, and consumerism.
Excerpt:
There was a specific smell that came from meat when it turned. It wasn't sweet like rot, or sharp like vinegar. It was just... A wrongness that crawled into your throat and settled there. Died there, even. I'd found that the town seemed to smell like that often, and my shop was an escape, ironically enough.
Development Notes:
MYRTLIN SPRINGS is a story inspired by some of my favorite seriously-messed-up books and authors. This book is my baby of sorts and I'm so proud to be working on it. I'm currently finishing up Part 4, the final section of the novel. After it's finished, I'll move into quick revisions to hopefully begin the publishing process the end of 2026.
