APRIL 2026 PROGRESS REPORT

APRIL 2026 PROGRESS REPORT

Primary Project(s): Myrtlin Springs, Blog Posts

Word Count: ~15,000 words

Biggest Win: Started reading again this year!!

Biggest Challenge: Having any motivation to actually write

Current Inspiration: Magic: The Gathering, my sewing projects, and indie video games

What I worked on:

1. Myrtlin Springs
I managed to get about 10,000 words done for my book this month, which felt helpful. I decided to rewrite Part 1, so I could get a better handle on Part 2, and I'm very happy I did. I don't anticipate editing Part 1 anymore, until I'm finished with the rest of the book. Part 2 is where things begin to shift a lot, and so I'm trying to stay vigilant in what the theme of the book is, and how to keep it true to itself.

2. My Blog
My blog has been a blast to post on this whole month. My cousin recommended I start a Substack, which I did, and I've been more active on social media (like IG and Bluesky) as well as reading in general and interacting with fiction more this month. I managed to read/listen to like, seven (7) books this month, which has put me back on schedule for my goal of thirty (30) by the end of the year.

Progress/Goal Breakdown:

I wrote four (4) blogposts this month, which were uploaded at a random time (most of the time, when they were finished). I didn't schedule any, and felt like pre-writing my blog posts would burn me out. I've considered a schedule to try and stick with, and want to maybe do 1 post a week.

Myrtlin Springs has had Part 1 completely reworked / edited specifically. I'm excited to work on Part 2.

ORCHID was not worked on this month.

LOUD & ANNOYING was not worked on this month, in the realm of writing specifically, but I've worked very close with my therapists, doctors, friends, and family to ensure that my writing is authentic and worth publishing.

Many hours of this month were spent on reading, which went to five books. Other hours were spent working on my abilities with Photoshop and Canva (for my little blog thumbnails and whatnot) as well as hours poured into drawing for my books. This involves concept sketches, cover ideas, doodles, etc.

My short-term goals for March were: Finish Myrtlin Springs (pt 2) and Redraft ORCHID. Neither of these goals were met, so I will revisit them again in May!

Short Term Goals:

Within the month, I'd like to...
1. Finish Myrtlin Springs (pt 2)
2. Redraft ORCHID (or part of it)
3. Post 4 blog posts in May
4. Read 4 books in May

Long Term Goals:

As a reminder, here are my goals for the quarter (Apr-Jun), I'd like to...
1. Finish Myrtlin Springs (pt 3)
2. Build my social media presence as an author and writer
3. Prepare for Storycon Dungeon (this summer!!)

My goals for the next 6 months (Apr-Sept), I'd like to...
1. Finish Myrtlin Springs (pt 4)
2. Begin editing ORCHID
3. Create a solid outline for LOUD & ANNOYING

My goals for the next 12 months (Apr-Mar), I'd like to...
1. Publish ORCHID
2. Query for Myrtlin Springs

Super excited for May to come!

Happy reading and writing :))
